As a result, Kawasaki Precision Machinery UK is proud to announce the launch of a new electro-hydraulic hybrid system to do just that.
The Eco Servo makes energy savings of up to 70% for industrial equipment.
KPM UK’s Senior Product Manager, Gerry Warren, said: “We are delighted with this result and hope everyone will invest in Eco Servo to get the most for their money and be proud of their green credentials.”
The Eco Servo system comprises an electronic motor, hydraulic pump and the servo controller minimizes waste.
The electric motor only rotates when hydraulic power is required, as Yasushi Sotani, KPM Japan’s Senior Engineering Manager, explains:
“The Eco Servo limits a pump’s activity through pressure, flow and speed sensing control.
“For example, in applications where bursts of activity are interspersed with periods of rest, this system maintains a limited power input, while controling energy wasted across the relief valve.”
Though similar products exist on the market, KPM claims Eco Servo’s benefits are unrivalled. Other systems can cope with just 11kW of energy, but the Eco Servo can handle up to 90kW electric motor capacity, ideal for larger applications.
Because it uses less energy it needs reduced coolers and therefore less space, which all contributes to the low cost of the system.
Kawasaki pledges a bespoke system, with set-up and superior support from experienced KPM engineers.
Kawasaki pumps are renowned for their high pressure, large capacity, variable displacement and efficiency. In addition the Eco Servo works with both open and closed circuits, and both servo drive and inverter drive.
Developed in Japan, the Eco Servo is now available globally from Kawasaki Heavy Industries PMC in Japan, England and America.
