30
Fire-up computers to check website for enquiries, check e-mail communications.

Open and prioritise the morning mail.

00 Get order for HMC80 for next-day delivery, send 3D drawings to customer which I received from KPM UK first thing.

00 Call Heather Creber, my sales coordinator, for confirmation of orders due today. The smell of bacon from ‘Dee Dee’s’ cafĂ© next door starts to waft through the window.

00 Bacon sandwiches all round. Mike Davies from the quality department calls with good news about our repairs order. QHL often send Staffas to KPM for overhaul and testing. They are stripped, inspected, repaired and returned painted and tested with a 12 month Factory warranty.

00 Put together travel plan for a trip around our sales area (the North East of England and all of Scotland). I am accompanied by KPM sales manager Richard Myland to support customer visits when necessary.

00 Receive enquiry for K3VL pumps, so prepare an e-mail quotation. Send e-mail along with a Datasheet from our Electronic Technical Library. The customer has also asked for a 3D drawing, contact KPMUK Applications Department who hold an extensive Technical Library and are always happy to oblige. Follow up by phone to discuss this latest project with the Application Engineers at KPMUK. (Nigel King & Gareth Totman)

00 It’s time for a full stock take of Staffa Motors, K3VL Pumps, MX530 Motors and various spare parts, assisted by Kathryn who will ensure our computerised stock list is correct but also our Web-Site stock list is accurate (www.staffamotors.com).

00 Received invoice from KPM in this morning’s post, reconcile invoices with the KPMUK statement. Ask Kathryn to send BACS payment and phone Jacqui Finbow to confirm payment.

00 Bills taken care of, I get a call from an OEM with a ‘vehicle-off-road’ order for a Staffa HMC motor. Delighted that KPM confirms a premium build is possible within 48 hours as all parts are available.

00 Call Ship Management Company in Latvia with correct weights and dimensions provided by the despatch team (Steve Westlake) - arrange transport with DHL.

00 Tick admin tasks off my ‘to do’ list before closing the office for a short run before home time.
